As ONG e a igualdade de género na cooperação internacional

Abstract

O presente Relatório de Estágio aborda a temática das “Organizações não Governamentais e da Igualdade de Género na Cooperação Internacional”, em particular, a organização ORBIS - Cooperação e Desenvolvimento, sendo esta a organização escolhida para a realização do Estágio. Desta forma, propomos responder à questão principal deste estudo, que é perceber qual o papel das ONG na promoção da igualdade de género, uma vez que as ONG enquanto agentes da cooperação para o desenvolvimento tornam-se no principal meio para denunciar a desigualdade existente numa sociedade dita justa e igualitária. Para responder à questão de investigação e testar as respectivas hipóteses, optamos por utilizar o instrumento de recolha de dados designado por inquérito por questionário. O inquérito foi aplicado a 20 membros de diferentes ONG em Portugal, com características e origens bastante distintas. Através da aplicação do inquérito conseguimos retirar algumas elações, visto que segundo os inquiridos as ONG portuguesas, na sua maioria, promovem activamente a igualdade de género, embora, isso não seja sinónimo de que promovam mais ou menos do que o mercado de trabalho em geral. Esperamos que este estudo tenha contribuído fortemente para incentivar o desenvolvimento de novos estudos, no que concerne ao papel das ONG na promoção da igualdade de género, dado ser uma temática pouco explorada em Portugal.

This probation report broaches the subject of “Non Governmental Organizations and Gender Equality Concerning the International Cooperation”, - The ORBIS, Organisation for Cooperation and Development in particular, taking into account that this organization was the one chosen to perform the probation. Thus, we are supposed to answer to the main question of this study – understanding which is the aim of the NGO regarding the promotion of Gender Equality since the NGO, while cooperation instigators to the development become the main way to bring to light the inequality that exists in a society supposed to be fair and more equal. In order to answer to the question of research and to check its respective chances, we choose to use a gathering instrument for data called inquiry by questioning. The inquiry was applied to twenty members of different NGO, in Portugal, having very different features and origins. Thought the application of the inquiry we arrived to some conclusions because, according to the asked people, the most Portuguese NGO made an active promotion concerning the Gender Equality. However it doesn’t mean that these organizations have a more or less action than the market in general. We hope that this study has had a strong contribution to encourage the development of other studies concerning the role of the NGO in the promotion of Gender Equality since this is a subject that is not too studied in Portugal.
