Abordagem transversal do ensino e aprendizagem da Língua Materna e promoção de uma educação para a cidadania global

Abstract

A sociedade do séc. XXI apresenta algumas características nunca antes observadas, dentre as quais se destaca a globalização associada a constantes mutações. Por ser uma nova sociedade, requer um novo modelo educativo, que deverá ser centrado em competências de natureza variada, que dizem respeito a todas as áreas do saber. É fácil de perceber que, neste contexto, o ensino e aprendizagem da língua materna ocupam um lugar de destaque, pois conduzem ao desenvolvimento de competências transversais relacionadas com a comunicação oral e escrita, essenciais para a integração social e o exercício de uma cidadania crítica e interventiva. Neste texto, refletimos sobre a relação entre o ensino e aprendizagem da língua materna e a promoção de uma educação para a cidadania global a partir de estudos que desenvolvemos.

The 21st century society presents some original characteristics, namely globalization generating a tendency to permanent change. Being a new society, it requires a new model of education, focused on competencies of several natures and related with all areas of knowledge. It is easy to understand how relevant is the role played by the teaching and learning of the mother tongue in this context, taking into account the fact that they contribute to the development of transversal competencies in oral and written communication, essential for social integration and the exercise of a critical and active citizenship. In this text, we reflect on the interaction between the teaching and learning of the mother tongue and the promotion of an education for global citizenship based on studies we have developed.
