Implementação de hortas urbanas no município de Albergaria-a-Velha

Abstract

Com o crescimento populacional, é de notar o crescente impacto que a humanidade possui no meio ambiente, consumindo exageradamente recursos naturais, sendo estes a base do sistema alimentar, que por sua vez é a base da nossa sobrevivência. Se queremos prevalecer, devemos avaliar os nossos comportamentos para realizar as necessárias mudanças nos nossos estilos de vida, garantindo assim, a preservação dos ecossistemas. Com este relatório de estágio pretendemos construir uma reflexão recente de resposta à transição sustentável de um sistema alimentar local, através da implementação de Hortas Urbanas Comunitárias como ferramenta política e educativa. Desta forma, quisemos compreender o papel do município no desenho e implementação de políticas de sustentabilidade alimentar, a fim de perceber os seus impactos e a sua importância na sensibilização da população. Esperamos, a partir da análise deste estudo de caso, fazer um conjunto de recomendações de possíveis novas formas de implementação de horta urbanas que se adapte às necessidades locais e da população.

With the population growth, it is worth noting the growing impact that humanity has on the environment, overusing natural resources, which are the basis of the food system, which in turn is the basis of our survival. If we want to prevail, we must evaluate our behaviours to make the necessary changes in our lifestyles, thus guaranteeing the preservation of our ecosystems. With this internship report we intend to build a recent reflection in response to the sustainable transition of a local food system, through the implementation of Community Urban Gardens as a political and educational tool. In this way, we wanted to understand the role of the municipality in the design and implementation of food sustainability policies, to understand its impacts and its importance in raising awareness among the population. We hope, from the analysis of this case study, to make a set of recommendations for possible new ways of implementing urban gardens that adapt to local and population needs, thus grating its replication.
