Estágio em edição no Serviço Editorial do Município da Póvoa de Varzim

Abstract

O presente Relatório de Estágio pretende descrever e tecer uma reflexão crítica sobre o trabalho e as aprendizagens adquiridas no estágio curricular em Edição, no âmbito do Mestrado em Estudos Editoriais, realizado no serviço editorial do Município da Póvoa de Varzim, em funcionamento na Biblioteca Municipal Rocha Peixoto, no período compreendido entre janeiro e abril de 2014. Este relatório foca-se particularmente em três vertentes distintas que marcaram o estágio aqui relatado: a revisão geral do layout da coleção “Na linha do horizonte – Biblioteca Poveira”; o acompanhamento, como assistente editorial, dos projetos editoriais em curso no Serviço de Edição do Município da Póvoa de Varzim; e a participação e observação crítica de certas atividades inseridas na iniciativa Festa do Livro e da Leitura, promovida pela Biblioteca Municipal Rocha Peixoto ao longo do mês de abril. Inclui ainda uma apresentação da Biblioteca Municipal e do serviço editorial enquadrado nesta instituição. A abordagem patente neste trabalho teve como eixo central o modo como a Biblioteca Municipal e o serviço editorial comunicam com os seus públicos, tendo em conta dois vetores principais: a ligação efetiva com a comunidade local e a promoção do livro e da leitura.

In the field of publishing studies, the following Internship Report aims to describe and reflect on the work and learning acquired throughout the curricular internship that I attended in the Publishing Division of Póvoa de Varzim’s Council, on the Biblioteca Municipal Rocha Peixoto, from January to April 2014. This report focuses particularly on three different aspects that have marked the internship here reported: the collection “Na linha do horizonte – Biblioteca Poveira”’s layout global revision; the support, as a publishing assistant, of the Publishing Divison’s editorial projects; the participation and the critical observation of some activities included in the Festa do Livro e da Leitura, initiative promoted by the Library during the month of April. It also includes a presentation of the Public Library and of the Publishing Division inserted in this institution. These report’s approach has as central link the way through which the Library and the Publishing Division communicate with their publics, attending to both of these major dimensions: the connection with the local community and the book and reading promotion.
