As fábulas de Aviano : introdução, versão do latim e notas

Abstract

Provavelmente do fim do século IV e princípio do século V d. C., as Fábulas de Aviano são, como o seu Autor, praticamente desconhecidas nos dias de hoje. No presente trabalho, figura um estudo introdutório das Fábulas, seguido da sua tradução, acompanhada de notas. A primeira parte aborda questões que se relacionam com o Autor (nome, época e obra) e com o seu texto (fontes, data de publicação, tipo de verso utilizado, estilo, fortuna literária e personagens). A segunda parte, bilingue, propõe a tradução das Fábulas. Finalmente, as notas às Fábulas apresentam apontamentos culturais, reflexões sobre o texto e as lições dos manuscritos e, em intertextualidade, passos de outros autores da Antiguidade Clássica.

The Fables of Avianus, which probably date from the end of the 4th Century and the begining of the 5th Century A.D., are still today, as its author, practically unknown. In this work, there is an introductory study of the Fables, followed by their translation and accompanied by notes. The first part deals with issues related to the author (name, epoch and work) and on his text itself (sources, publishing dates, type of verse, style, literary richness and characters). The second part, bilingual, proposes the translation of the Fables. Finally, the notes to the Fables present cultural information, reflections about the text and the manuscript lessons, and, in intertextuality, parts of other authors’ works from the Ancient Classical epoch.
