Crescimento económico ibérico: principais fatores de crescimento

Abstract

Este trabalho apresenta uma análise comparativa entre os dois países que compõem a Península Ibérica – Portugal e Espanha – em termos de crescimento económico, centrada na análise de quais os principais fatores subjacentes na diferença de crescimento destes dois países. É realizada uma revisão de literatura sobre a evolução económica dos dois países ibéricos para identificar os pontos comuns e divergentes entre as duas economias e os principais fatores determinantes do crescimento económico de ambos. Numa fase seguinte são estudadas as diferenças entre os dois países recorrendo ao método de análise econométrica OLS. Deste trabalho é possível concluir que existem diferenças entre os dois países ao nível do capital humano, inovação, crescimento da população e influência da ideologia política.

This paper presents a comparative analysis between the two countries that make up the Iberian Peninsula - Spain and Portugal - in terms of economic growth, focusing on the analysis of the main factors underlying the difference between the growth of these two countries. It is made a review of literature on the economic developments of the two Iberian countries to identify common and divergent points between the two economies and the main determinants of economic growth in both. As the next step was studied the differences between the two countries using the econometric analysis method OLS. From this work we conclude that there are differences between the two countries in terms of human capital, innovation, population growth and influence of political ideology.
