O corpo e o filme : as curtas-metragens de animação num contexto Europeu

Abstract

Esta dissertação tem como objectivo fazer uma análise da relação que existe entre o corpo e o filme. A comunicação não-verbal é um instrumento diário de partilha de informação entre as pessoas. Esta investigação pretende compreender a relevância que a comunicação não-verbal tem nas curtasmetragens de animação; que características permitem que os espectadores entendam as emoções que estão a ser vividas pelos personagens; que influência exerce o corpo na comunicação de emoções e no desenvolvimento da acção. A linguagem corporal é uma fonte de informação que permite descodificar certos níveis de emoção sentidos. O estudo exploratório descrito neste trabalho tem como metodologia de investigação a observação directa. Esta observação permite analisar de que forma o corpo é trabalhado, em termos de alterações de fisionomia e movimentos corporais, que permitam ao espectador perceber a emoção que a personagem está a sentir. Uma posterior análise de conteúdo desta observação permite fazer uma recolha das características corporais e faciais que permitem revelar algumas emoções básicas.

This dissertation aims to analyze the relation between the body and the film. The nonverbal communication is a daily tool for sharing information among people. This research wants to understand the importance that nonverbal communication have in animated short films; features that allow viewers to understand the emotions being experienced by the characters; what influence has the body in the communication of emotions and in the development of the action. Body language is a source of information that allows certain levels of emotion decoding senses. The exploratory study described in this paper use direct observation as research methodology. This observation allows us to analyze how the body is worked, in terms of changes of face and body movements, letting the viewer to understand the emotion that the character is feeling. A subsequent content analyzes of this observation allows to get a collection of body and facial features that permit revealing some basic emotions.
