A imigração em Portugal e o papel do ACIDI

Abstract

A imigração constitui, actualmente, uma realidade incontornável em Portugal. Esta “nova” realidade veio afectar a sociedade portuguesa, despoletando a intervenção pública com a criação de políticas de integração de imigrantes. O relatório de estágio que agora se apresenta tem como objectivos: debruçar-se sobre a imigração em Portugal; conjugar a actuação do governo português em relação à questão da imigração, a qual revela um claro esforço para a integração eficaz dos imigrantes na sociedade apesar de ainda permanecerem algumas condicionantes à sua integração; perceber o papel do Centro Nacional de Apoio ao Imigrante (criado pelo ACIDI), assim como o nível de satisfação dos imigrantes em relação ao CNAI. Complementarmente, é também apresentada a interdisciplinaridade desta temática entre as várias ciências sociais através das teorias das migrações.

Immigration constitutes today an avoidable reality in the Portugal. Such “new” reality has implications on the Portuguese society, and has triggered public intervention through the creation of integration policies for immigrants. The objectives of the training report presented here are: to analyze the phenomenon of immigration in Portugal and the Portuguese Government's action on the issue of immigration, which shows a clear effort for the effective integration of immigrants in society, regardless of the remaining constraints to their integration to; understand the role of the National Immigrant Support (created by ACIDI), as well as the level of satisfaction of immigrants in relation to CNAI. In addition, it also presents the interdisciplinary nature of this issue among the various social sciences through migration theories.
