Utilização de ferramentas e serviços Web para realização de teletrabalho colaborativo no contexto académico

Abstract

Com o desenvolvimento das tecnologias e serviços assentes na Web e com a proliferação das premissas da Web social, estimula-se a participação colaborativa entre os utilizadores. Este suporte à colaboração permite que sejam facilitadas práticas de teletrabalho em diversos contextos, inclusive no ambiente académico. O presente estudo incide sobre as práticas de teletrabalho colaborativo que os alunos de Ciências e Tecnologias da Comunicação da Universidade de Aveiro adoptam no contexto académico, nomeadamente, na realização de trabalhos de grupo à distância. Foi feito um levantamento teórico sobre o tema do teletrabalho e sobre as tecnologias de comunicação que potenciam o teletrabalho colaborativo. Este levantamento facilita a compreensão das temáticas associadas e identifica alguns investigadores envolvidos. O estudo envolveu também uma recolha de dados através de inquérito por questionário onde se procedeu a uma análise quantitativa e qualitativa da informação recolhida. A análise de dados permitiu aferir um conjunto de funcionalidades pertinentes a qualquer serviço de suporte ao teletrabalho colaborativo em contexto académico. Salientaram-se as limitações das actuais soluções, confirmando a carência de plataformas agregadoras que permitam usufruir das dinâmicas sociais das redes Web e, simultaneamente, assegurar a gestão controlada dos projectos colaborativos entre utilizadores de serviços ou ferramentas independentes.

With the development of the technologies and services based in the World Wide Web, as well as the establishment of the social web premises, there is an underlying stimulus to the collaborative participation amongst users. This collaborative participation allows distance work practices in a wide range of contexts, including the academic one. The current study focuses on collaborative telework practices shown by Communication and Technology Sciences students from the University of Aveiro, namely in their remote group work collaborative interactions. A theoretical survey on the topic of telecommuting and on the communication technologies that boost the collaborative teleworking is presented. This survey simplifies the understanding of the issues involved and identifies some of the researchers involved. The data collection was made by the means of a questionnaire, which was qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed. The analysis enabled the identification of an array of pertinent features for any collaborative telework support software in the academic context. The available solutions and their limitations were highlighted, confirming the need for aggregation platforms that allow the users to enjoy the full power of social networking dynamics as well as guarantying the controlled management of collaborative projects amongst users of different services or independent tools.
