As tecnologias de videoconferência no ensino superior público português: boas práticas e tendências

Abstract

A presente investigação visa compreender a utilização das tecnologias de videoconferência nas instituições públicas portuguesas de Ensino Superior e, especialmente, as tendências verificadas na utilização destas tecnologias. Visa também propor um conjunto de recomendações promotoras de boas práticas nessa utilização. Com o objectivo de comprovar as hipóteses traçadas foram analisadas várias infra-estruturas de videoconferência de algumas destas instituições, onde se realizou uma significativa recolha de dados sobre a frequência, tipos de uso, tecnologias utilizadas, métodos de utilização, objectivos dessa utilização e das várias interacções e foram entrevistados e inquiridos vários tipos de utilizadores habituais das tecnologias de videoconferência. Os dados recolhidos revelam que não existe uma tendência de crescimento generalizada da utilização, que existe um grande subaproveitamento dessas infra-estruturas nas várias instituições e que o potencial das tecnologias de videoconferência não é aproveitado, em toda a sua plenitude, pelas instituições públicas portuguesas de Ensino Superior.

This investigation aims to understand the usage of the videoconference technologies in the Portuguese public high education institutions, especially the trends verified in the usage of these technologies in this environment and a set of recommendations promoting good practices in that usage. With the goal of proving the hypotheses and generating a deep understanding about these usages it had been analyzed several videoconference infrastructures of some of these institutions and accomplished an important data collection about the frequency, the types of usage, the technologies that had been used, the usage methods, the goals of that usage and the several interactions and it were interviwed and inquired several types of users that usually use the videoconference technologies. The information tell us that there isn’t a generalized growth tendency in that usage and there is a low usage of these kind of equipments in these institutions as well as the potential of the videoconference technologies that isn’t used to advantage by the Portuguese public high education institutions.
