Abstract: The MCM-41 and MCM-48 mesoporous materials were tested for extraction of thiamethoxam, thiacloprid, thiophanate-methyl, teflubenzuron, and bifenthrin from the fruit of soursop (Annona muricata), using liquid chromatography with ultraviolet diode array detection as the analysis technique. Extractions performed at one fortification level (0.5 mg kg−1, n = 3) resulted in recoveries in the ranges 75–106% and 76–95% for MCM-41 and MCM-48, respectively, with relative standard deviations (n = 3) ranging from 5 to 9%. The detection and quantification limits for the pesticides studied were in the ranges of 0.02–0.06 mg kg−1 and 0.05–0.10 mg kg−1. The developed method was linear over the concentration range tested (0.01–5 mg kg−1), with correlation coefficients of between 0.9620 and 0.9999. Comparison of the mesoporous materials and a conventional sorbent (Florisil) revealed a similar performance for the pesticides.
