Abstract: | The LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) cylinder is in circulation for many years, providing gas service for the population. During all those years the same problem persisted, the lack of a viable method to measure the liquid level inside a gas cylinder automatically and without the intervention of the user. If the distributor had access to the level of gas of each gas cylinder in a database, it would be possible to warn the user about the gas level and offer to trade the empty tank for a full one providing a new way of interaction between the user and the distributor. A solution that could enable this new interaction is the development of a simple and cheap measuring system to measure the liquid level and communicate its status, through IoT (Internet of Things), to a database. In this work, a way to measure the liquid level is proposed taking advantage of the resonant frequencies of the cylinder, which varies with the liquid level of gas. Therefore is possible to map the weight of the cylinder with its corresponding frequency. |
