garantida a maior rentabilidade energética do infravermelho.
rentabilidade energética do processo.
The cure of phenolic resins is usually made in chambers by two technologies: hot air convection with electric power supplies, and gas or electric infra-red ray radiation. The infra-red ray technology allows curing the phenolic resin in few minutes whereas the convective processes require, sometimes, days. However, the energetic efficiency of the infra-red technology is not guaranteed. The main objective of this work was therefore to evaluate the infra-red technology in the phenolic resin cure, with the particular emphasis in the energy efficiency of the process. For such, diverse test of phenolic resin cure had been carried through in abrasive products. The work program included laboratorial tests in small samples of sandpaper and tests at an pilot scale in an infra-red cure chamber. The comparison between the CFD numerical simulations and the experimental results allowed to conclude that the admitted electric power throughout the cure chamber of cure, in the work direction, must be decreasing, with a minimum at the half length, growing back until the initial maximum. In these conditions, for some products, the process of cure by infra-red technology presented similar energy consumption to the process of cure for convection. |
