setor do turismo.
As
A eficácia e o sucesso
eficaz no turismo This study aims to identify the limiting factors for tourism strategic leadership that influence positively or negatively the decisions of a leader and, hence, the results that are decisive for the success, growth and development of organizations and the sector in which they operate. It aims to ascertain how the moderating factors of strategic leadership in tourism influence the leader's decisions, and how they contribute to the definition of assertive, efficient and effective strategies, and to identify which acting differences exist between leaders holding political and official positions and leaders with business and private activities or corporate associative representation. It is proposed, thus, contributing to greater scientific knowledge about leadership, especially strategic leadership, and tourism, as well as to raise awareness of the leaders for decision making in the sector. To fulfill the proposed objectives, the study uses several complementary methods and techniques. In the first phase, it proceds to a comprehensive analysis of secondary sources on the subject, identifying several factors that influence strategic leadership, followed by an empirical study that uses tourism leaders semi-structured interviews. The study confirms that leaders play a crucial role in organizations, contributing to the design of an entire sector. The consequences of choosing and implementing a strategy can make all the difference between achieving success, growth and development or produce results that can lead organizations and the tourism industry to fail with negative impacts globally. The effectiveness and success of organizations depend on several moderating factors, such as the characteristics of the organization, the profile of the leader, considering his or her competencies, experience, knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, virtues, personality, motivation, emotional control and regulation, type of influence and power, as well as factors of the PEST environment, employees’ characteristics, decision making and leadership practices. Only a deep knowledge of the moderating factors allows tourism effective strategic leadership. |
