O contacto dos extremos e as vivências dos sabores nas relações luso-chinesas

Abstract

Uma das dimensões de análise das relações seculares entre portugueses e chineses é aquela que se expressa por intermédio das trocas de alimentos, sabores, práticas de cozinha e gastronomia. O presente texto analisa o intercâmbio luso-chinês através deste domínio, os fatores que levaram a esta aproximação, as principais influências mútuas ao nível alimentar e, em particular, o legado na cozinha de Macau. Procuramos demonstrar como a herança gastronómica na Ásia deixadas pelos portugueses é um testemunho vivo do relacionamento secular luso-chinês.

One of the points of analysis in the rela-tionship between the Portuguese and the Chinese is that provided by the exchange of food, flavours, cooking habits and gastronomy. This text analyses the Luso-Chinese exchange in this context, the factors that have led to this convergence, the main mutual influences with regard to food and, in particular, the legacy in Macau’s cuisine. We aim to prove how the gastronomic heritage in Asia left by the Por-tuguese is a living testimony of the secular Luso-Chinese relationship.
