Abstract

Os solos silto-argilosos, causam grandes problemas de estabilidade, deformabilidade e de resistência, tornando assim, terrenos com estes solos impossíveis de se construir. Este trabalho tem como base, o estudo da aplicabilidade da técnica Deep Soil Mixing (DSM) num solo silto-argiloso, de forma a introduzir no solo características ótimas de um solo capaz de suportar uma construção sem haver problemas de assentamentos. A técnica de DSM tem um efeito simultâneo de melhoramento e de reforço, na medida em que altera ou melhora algumas características do solo, constituindo-se o produto final um elemento rígido. O solo será modificado pela técnica DSM onde se vai misturar o solo com um ligante até obter-se uma mistura ideal, que transmita ao terreno envolvente a resistência necessária.

The silty-clayey soils cause big stability problems, such as the deformability and the strength, thus making impossible to build on terrains with this kind of soils. This work is based on the study of the applicability of the method Deep Soil Mixing in a silty-clay soil, in order to introduce the optimal characteristics of a soil capable to support a building settlements without complications. The DSM technique has a simultaneous effect of improvement and reinforcement, insofar it change or enhance certain features of the soil, constituting the final product on a rigid element. The soil will be modified by the DSM technique and it will be mixed with a binder until it gets an ideal combination. This final mixture will provide to the surrounding land the necessary strength to build.
