Abstract

A maquinagem de implantes é muitas vezes um processo complexo, dispendioso e moroso. Neste sentido, torna-se fundamental desenvolver novos métodos de fabrico, assim como novas estratégias, que permitam o uso de materiais alternativos em processos de maquinagem aperfeiçoados. Actualmente, é possível substituir diversas articulações do corpo humano, nomeadamente a anca e o joelho, utilizando componentes de superfícies complexas. Propõe-se assim a maquinagem do componente do prato tibial da prótese do joelho, assim como o estudo relativo à prótese da anca no que diz respeito à possibilidade de maquinar a haste femoral juntamente com a cabeça do fémur Os testes realizados em material de pré-teste, permitiram aperfeiçoar os parâmetros de corte assim como determinar o número e a disposição dos apoios a utilizar em cada situação.
