e tecnologia (ECSITE, ASTC, ASPAC, ASTEN, NSCF, Red Pop e SAASTEC).
parecem influenciar a aprendizagem nos centros interactivos de ciência;
focadas no tema Óptica.
bastante apelativa. Esta visita fez parte do Plano Anual de Actividades no ano
lectivo 2005/2006.
A análise
aprendizagem. Every one knows that, ideally, the teachers will have to use a large amount of strategies and materials that allow to increase the impact and the effectiveness of their learning in different types of pupils, what in practice it is not easy to accomplish. The experiences in the scope of the informal learning of science provide, the different individuals, with appropriate chances of learning, having the necessity of crossing the borders between the museums and the schools approaching both scenes, the formal and informal ones. The number of interactive science centres has increased all over the world, as we can see in the sites of the Internet of collaborative science and technology centres (ECSITE, ASTC, ASPAC, ASTEN, NSCF, Red Pop and SAASTEC). It occurs also in Portugal, having even the alteration of expositive expositions in interactive expositions, with the intention of the scientific spreading and its popularisation. Now-a-days there are 12 Centros de Ciência Viva in Portugal and 10 years after since the creation of the first centre, the global number of visitors exceeded 3 million. The aim of this study are: to know the myriad of factors that seem to influence the learning in the interactive science centres; to identify pupils conceptions of concepts on the properties of light and its phenomena; and to analyse the impact, on pupils of 3º Ciclo, resulting of a visit to a interactive science center with activities focused on Optics. To get the data to the objectives of the study, identification of alternative conceptions, learning of scientific concepts and interpretation of light’s phenomena, was used a questionnaire. This questionnaire was answered by 270 pupils of 7th year of two schools of Viseu, Escola Grão Vasco and Escola Infante D. Henrique. To investigate the cognitive impacts, on the pupils of Escola Infante D. Henrique resulting of a visit of study to an interactive science centre, O Exploratório Infante D. Henrique in Coimbra, with numberless modules of the thematic unit in cause, Optics, and with an appellative expositions. This visit was part of the Annual Plan of Activities in school year 2005/2006. As soon as it was possible and, after the accomplishment of the visit, the questionnaire was answered by pupils, the ones that went to the visit of study and the group of control. In the statistical treatment of the analysis of the data the tests of significance it was used the qui-square test and McNemar test. When the qui-square test indicated a reasonable probability of significant differences between the samples, it was calculated the contingency coefficient and the V of Cramér to measure the association between the variables. The relative frequencies of the answers had been compared: the pupils of the two schools; the boys and the girls; the pupils of Escola Infante D. Henrique before and after the visit of study; and the pupils of Escola Grão Vasco before and after. The analysis made on the differences obtained from each of the sixteen questions of the four comparisons indicates that this is non significant. In the few where we can verifie a difference between the samples, the correlation coefficients show that the correlation between the variables is weak. The cognitive impacts, having occurred, had not been measured in this study. Probably, the alternative conceptions in this topic are very strong and are, therefore, of difficult alteration, as we can also verifie during formal education. Another factor, the factor novelty refered in recent literature, could cause the non significant alteration in the results of the questionnaire applied before and after the visit of study. The enthusiasm revealed by a great number of pupils cause the inhibition of the learning that the questionnaire intended to measure. It seems that, safe logistic problems, that the visit would produce other effects if it could happen at enough moments, before, during and after the formal education of the subject, to dissipated the novelty factor and to, insistently, help to create/to decide the conceptual conflict that promotes learning. |
