A infertilidade e o transplante de tecido ovárico: tradução e glossário

Abstract

A questão da infertilidade tem vindo a destacar-se nesses últimos anos, devido à sua crescente incidência nas sociedades ocidentais. No entanto, com a ciência e a tecnologia cada vez mais desenvolvidas, começaram a surgir técnicas inovadoras de tratamento, tomando possível solucionar muitos casos de infertilidade. Dentro das várias técnicas terapêuticas que hoje em dia existem, verifica-se que as mais recentes têm tido pouca divulgação no nosso país. Refiro-me em especial ao transplante de tecido ovárico, relativamente ao qual é notória a escassez de informação disponível em português. Deste modo, este projeto final de Mestrado tem como objetivo ajudar a colmatar esta falta de informação existente, através da tradução de artigos científicos franceses, permitindo, assim, estabelecer uma ligação entre o domínio da Tradução e a área da Saúde. A tradução destes documentos exigiu ainda que se criasse um glossário bilingue, visto a linguagem técnica usada nos textos ser de primordial importância para a divulgação das novas técnicas de tratamento da infertilidade. O presente relatório tem por finalidade mostrar cada uma das fases do trabalho desenvolvido, desde a escolha do tema e dos textos, à sua descrição, às traduções, às dificuldades encontradas, às ferramentas utilizadas, até se chegar a uma reflexão crítica sobre todo o projeto.

During the last years the matter of infertility has been emphasized due to its growing incidence on occidental societies. Although, with medicine and technology developing at a growing pace new and innovating treatment techniques provide solutions to many infertility cases. Within the various therapeutic techniques that exist today it is known that the most recent have found little diffusion in our country. In particular I would like to mention the transplant of ovarian tissue, which shows a lack of information available in Portuguese. The aim of my final master's degree project is to bridge this gap of information with the translation of scientific articles from French to Portuguese and so establish a connection between the translation domain and the health field. To perform the translation of these documents the creation of a bilingual glossary was a necessary step. We have to take in consideration the primordial importance of the technical language used in these articles, due to its essential role in the diffusion of new fertility treatment techniques. The aim of the present report is to show each of these steps, from the choice of the subject and texts, its description, translations, difficulties, tools, to a critical reflection of the whole project.
