A transição
face a veículos elétricos.
The growing demand for conventional vehicles has led to an aggravation of environmental problems, presented by the dependence on fossil fuels and the greenhouse gases emissions. The transition to an electric mobility is a more sustainable solution to reduce the negative impact caused by the transport sector. Recently, global sales of electric vehicles have been growing exponentially, as it has in Portugal where there has been significant growth. This thesis focuses on 100% electric vehicles, with the objective of analyzing a set of factors that influence the consumer’s purchase intention of electric vehicles in Portugal. For this, the variables evaluated were: brand trust, environmental attitude, ecological concern, perceived benefits, perceived risks and attitude towards electric vehicles. To support the objective of this thesis, it has developed a quantitative study, which through an online questionnaire, allowed to obtain a sample with 304 respondents. The methods of linear regression and Covariance-based Structural Equation Modelling (CB-SEM) were used to evaluate the model consisting of 14 hypotheses. The results obtained allowed to conclude that attitude towards electric vehicles is the most influential factor in assessing the purchase intention and attitude towards electric vehicles is strongly influenced by the benefits perceived by consumers. At last, the study indicates directions for future research in order to develop effective strategies that accelerate the transition to a more sustainable mobility. |
