Relatório de estágio curricular em coordenação de ensaios clínicos na Blueclinical Phase I

Abstract

O presente relatório foi elaborado no âmbito do estágio curricular do Mestrado em Gestão da Investigação Clínica e visa descrever as atividades neste elaboradas. O estágio curricular teve como principal objetivo o desenvolvimento de tarefas que permitissem aplicar os conhecimentos teóricos obtidos ao longo do mestrado num ambiente real, adquirindo novas competências e experiência profissional na área de coordenação de ensaios clínicos. Este decorreu ao longo de dez meses ao abrigo da BlueClinical Lda, na unidade de ensaios clínicos de fase I. O relatório encontra-se dividido em dois capítulos. Num primeiro capítulo é desenvolvida uma revisão bibliográfica relativamente a ensaios clínicos de fase I, explicando-os e à sua importância, refletindo nas principais dificuldades, contextualizando a situação de Portugal e caracterizando o típico voluntário saudável e as suas motivações. O segundo capítulo inclui uma breve contextualização relativamente à instituição de acolhimento, descreve os objetivos traçados para este percurso e, posteriormente, foca-se na descrição detalhada das atividades realizadas ao longo do estágio. Por fim, foi elaborada uma reflexão sobre todo o percurso percorrido ao longo do estágio curricular. O relatório termina ao concluir que toda a experiência, desde o estágio curricular à elaboração do presente relatório, foi bastante enriquecedora, a nível profissional e pessoal.

This report was developed within the scope of the curricular internship for the Master's Degree in Clinical Research Management and aims to describe the activities carried out. The main goal of the curricular internship was to perform tasks that would allow the aplication of the theoretical knowledge acquired during the master's programme in a real working environment, obtaining new skills and professional experience in the clinical trial coordination field. It took place over ten months under the supervision of BlueClinical Lda, in the phase I clinical trials unit. This report is divided into two chapters. The first chapter presents a literature review on phase I clinical trials, explaining them and their relevance, reflecting on the main difficulties, contextualising the situation in Portugal and characterising the typical healthy volunteer and their motivations. The second chapter includes a brief contextualisation of the host institution, describes the objectives set for this journey and then focuses on a detailed description of the activities carried out during the internship. Finally, a reflection has been drawn up on the entire path taken during the curricular internship. The report finishes by concluding that the whole experience, from the curricular internship to the writing of the current report, has been very enriching, both professionally and personally.
