In this article we attempt to ascertain the standpoints according to which a specific piece of Latin literature might be classified as «homoerotic». So as to examine sexuality in Latin literature from an internal pers-pective, we seek to describe the protocols of sexual behaviour codified by Roman thought. Accordingly, we intend to show that the texts usually catalogued under the heading «Latin homoerotic literature» do not fit this definition.pt_PT
