dc.description.abstract | In today’s world, where economic growth is based on an increasing and unsustainable consumption of resources, raw materials are wasted every day without any rationalization. This problem becomes even worse when it is related to non-renewable resources. In this context, it is important to intervene in all domains, including the supplying and water distribution systems, which, beyond the waste of water observed in degraded and at the end of life water networks, creates opportunities (chances) to reuse and recycle materials and/or residues proceeding from the intervention in these networks, thus enabling the extraction reduction of new raw materials and also the quantity reduction of residues that go to landfill. This dissertation focuses on the possible interventions in the scope of deconstruction or rehabilitation of these water networks, detaching the materials that can be found in the supplying and distribution water systems, the intervention techniques and the most appropriate routing to be given to all the materials and residues that drift from that intervention. | por |
