This report describes the development of the process of optimizing the flow of the internal material supply system at Funfrap – Fundição Portuguesa S.A. In order to make this process more organized and, consequently, more fluid, it is essential to eliminate non-value-added activities, reduce stock in the border of lines and create a new supply route for tool kits of the finishing cabs. It was then necessary to collect information, analyze the initial supply system to understand where improvements could be made, and use Lean tools, namely, visual management and the 5S's methodology in order to achieve the intended objectives. The report presents the changes made that contributed to the reduction of stock in the border of lines, the reduction of activities without added value, especially concerning the movements and displacements of logistic and line operators, to increase workplace organization, which naturally proved decisive in making the factory more visual. However, the desired implementation of the tools supply system to the finishing cabins through the kitting system was not possible. |
