Astrotourism is considered one of the most sustainable forms of tourism, attracting specific market segments, especially suited to less massified destinations. The main purpose of this dissertation is to understand the profile, motivations, and satisfaction factors of those who practice or are interested in practicing astrotourism activities, in the national context. The results of the applied questionnaire revealed that the educational aspect has a significant importance as a push motivational factor, and the attributes with greater weight when choosing an astrotourism destination (pull motivational factors) are the quality of its natural resources, particularly its night sky, and the offer of complementary activities. The level of post-experience satisfaction is high, due to great intellectual and sensory stimulation, as well as the scenic dimension of the places, with their unique and beautiful landscape. With particular interest and applicability in the Portuguese context, this study can represent a useful tool to successfully plan, manage and guide the existing tourism supply, so that it is perceived as unique, competitive, and satisfactory. |
