The entry of Portugal in the European Economic Community and its accession to the euro brought on some challenges for Portugal. However, countries like Switzerland did not access and kept their own currency. This dissertation, presented in order to obtain a master’s degree in Languages and Business Relations, concerns the study of trade relations between Portugal and Switzerland starting from the moment of accession of Portugal to the European Economic Community going to contemporaneity. This paper pursues the analysis of the trade relations between a country that agreed to belong to the European Economic Community and a country that did not, although it maintains close relations with the countries belonging to the European Union, including Portugal, via bilateral. Thus, it was developed a historic perspective throughout the paper, brought on by researches focused on the economy and trade relations between the two countries that are studied while aiming for a better understanding of the two. |
