Politicas culturais e a revitalização urbana: o caso PO.RO.S

Abstract

O relatório que se apresenta tem por objetivo refletir sobre o trabalho desenvolvido durante o estágio curricular de Mestrado em Criação Artística Contemporânea, no museu PO.RO.S – museu Portugal Romano em Sicó. Tem por base uma investigação sobre património cultural e cultura, bem como uma reflexão conceitual sobre politicas culturais e o seu contributo como recurso de enorme potencial na valorização do território, na sua dinamização económica e contributo ímpar para a criação de uma identidade territorial. Pretende-se compreender como podem as políticas culturais promover o desenvolvimento social e económico dos municípios, o seu impacto na vida social dos indivíduos e a importância que o setor cultural tem como fator de promoção na imagem da cidade. Teve como resultados, no essencial, o desvendar das dinâmicas do museu, o revelar do seu funcionamento quotidiano, o traçar das linhas de força do seu potencial e, também, o apontar de algumas insuficiências limitativas da plena realização da sua função económico-cultural.

This report aims to reflect on the work developed during my curricular internship of Master in Contemporary Artistic Creation, in the museum PO.RO.S - Portugal Romano museum at Sicó. It is based on research on cultural heritage and culture, as well as in a conceptual reflection on cultural policies and their contribution as a resource of enormous potential for valorization of the territory, its economic dynamism and unique contribution to the creation of a territorial identity. It is intended to understand how cultural policies can promote the social and economic development of municipalities, their impact on the social life of individuals and the importance that the cultural sector has as a factor in promoting the image of a city. Its results were essentially the unraveling of the museum's dynamics, the revealing of its daily functioning, the tracing of its potential lines and also the pointing out of some limiting shortcomings for the full realization of its economic and cultural function.
