Title: Dielectric polarisation and relaxation behaviour in Bi and La doped SrTiO3 ceramics
Author: Zhi Yu
Defense Date: 1999
Abstract: Since its discovery, the (Sr1-1.5xBix)TiO3 solid solution has been widely used for making capacitors. After an explanation of the dielectric behaviour by a "hopping ion" model (Skanavi et al.,1958) and later the finding of a hysteresis loop, fewer studies have been reported and its polarisation mechanism is still uncertain. With the development of relaxor materials, further studies of (Sr1-1.5xBix)TiO3 is interesting. The present work is mainly concerned with a study of dielectric properties of (Sr1-1.5xBix)TiO3 ceramics in the temperature range 11K to about 800K, (Sr1-1.5yLay)TiO3 ceramics were also made in order to provide a comparative system.
