dc.description.abstract | This project was developed within the scope of the curricular units of Supervised Pedagogical Practice and the Educational Investigation Seminar of the Masters in Preschool and Primary School Education at the University of Aveiro. Its main goal was to understand the development of autonomy and emotional well-being of children in routine, nature related and art activities, based on the Waldorf educational system and the Reggio Emilia curricular approach. Based on a qualitative and interpretive methodology, a case study was performed involving 24 children at preschool age. Data was collected via grids where the different levels of emotional well-being and autonomy of these children were registered, levels which were observed when they performed routine, nature related and art activities. The results showed that the previously mentioned levels of emotional well-being and autonomy were positivitely altered throughout the study. Nature and art related activities appear to favour the development of certain values and abilities, such as creativity, responsability and critical thinking as well as the overall autonomy demonstrated by the group of children involved in the study | pt_PT |
