The integral reading of the literary work in French as a Foreign Language, as extensive reading, has proved to be difficult to carry out at our schools for several reasons; on one hand we might enhance the learners’ lack of motivation, associated with linguistics difficulties; on the other hand, the lack of time and resources to teach it under suitable educational conditions. That is why teachers often opt for analysing only the parts they consider more important, not allowing the learners the desirable textual appropriations at this level. This study, supported on the theories of reception and didactics of literary reading, aims to show, precisely, that the total reading of the works might be carried out in a more motivating way for every student if it was duly supported through implication strategies and slides that allowed the reflection of adopted reading attitudes and the strategies of individual reading. In this theoretical setting, we have tried the total reading of the literary text in French as a Foreign Language through investigation-action together with the reading diary in a dialogue form with the teacher and shared by the whole class, this searching for pleasure in reading. |
