Profissão docente e aposentação antecipada: que razões?

Abstract

A profissão docente tem sofrido inúmeras alterações ao longo dos últimos anos. Cada vez mais é pedido ao professor que desempenhe diferentes e múltiplas tarefas, para além das que está habituado ou mesmo preparado. Isso, conjugado com as alterações na carreira docente, decorrentes das transformações introduzidas por algumas políticas educativas, tem causado sentimentos de insatisfação e mal-estar nos docentes, levando-os a abandonar a profissão. No nosso caso, pretendemos perceber quais as razões que levam os docentes a pedir a aposentação antecipada. Para isso, entrevistámos um conjunto de professores do ensino básico e secundário de duas escolas diferentes. Como principais conclusões pode dizer-se que, independentemente da escola a que pertencem, as alterações na carreira docente e nas políticas educativas aliadas à organização do trabalho docente e à dimensão pessoal e familiar contribuíram, de modo significativo, para que estes docentes abandonassem a escola antes de perfazer a idade da

The teaching profession has suffered several changes through the last years. The number of time teacher is asked to performe different and multiplie tasks, beyond the ones he is used or prepared to do, gradually increases. That, combined with the changes that took place in the educational carrear as a result of the modifications in several educational policies has caused feelings of dissatisfaction and malaise in teachers, leadind them to leave the profession. In our case, we intend to understand wich are the reasons that make teachers to retired before time. For that, we interwied a group of primary and secondary teachers from two different schools. As main conclusions we can say that, regardless the school they belong to, the changes in the educational carrear as well as in the educational policies coupled to the organization of teaching work and to the personal and familiar dimension have significantly influenced the teachers to leave off school before the retirement time limit.
