O português cantado no Brasil e em Portugal

Abstract

A presente dissertação aborda o estudo fonético acústico e articulatório do Português Brasileiro (PB) e do Português Europeu (PE) no canto lírico. Assim sendo, buscou-se identificar possíveis diferenças e semelhanças entre as pronúncias do PB e do PE. Com o uso do software de medição automática Praat, foi realizada a análise acústica dos formantes F1 e F2 de sete vogais orais do PB e do PE [i], [E], [a], [O], [u], [1] e [6]. O experimento da pesquisa foi realizado com a participação de dois sopranos: uma brasileira e uma portuguesa, com bom estado de saúde, que gravaram uma canção com texto em português de acordo com as suas pronúncias de origem. A partir dos sinais acústicos obtidos das gravações dos áudios foram analisados os formantes F1 e F2 e o espaço acústico das vogais em questão, com vistas à avaliação do comportamento destas variáveis entre si e em relação aos movimentos dos articuladores mandíbula, lábios e língua. Os resultados da investigação sobre as pronúncias do PB e do PE no canto sugerem que houve: i) diferenças em F1 para as vogais [i], [E] e [1]; ii) diferenças em F2 para a vogal [O]; e iii) semelhanças em F1 e F2 para as vogais [a], [u] e [6]. Quanto ao espaçamento acústico das vogais, verificou-se que no PB houve menor movimentação dos articuladores para as vogais [a], [6] e [O] e, no PE, ocorreu maior movimentação dos articuladores em todas as vogais, exceto na vogal [a]. Deste modo, conclui-se que o conhecimento sobre o funcionamento dos principais articuladores envolvidos na pronúncia das vogais, assim como as suas influências sobre os formantes F1 e F2, pode contribuir substancialmente para o entendimento dos fenômenos acústicos e articulatórios do canto e para a melhoria do ensino-aprendizagem da dicção lírica do idioma Português.

This dissertation encompasses a phonetic study of Brazilian Portuguese (BP) and European Portuguese (EP) in classical singing from both acoustic and articulatory points of view. Thus, we sought to identify possible differences and similarities between the pronunciations of the two varieties. With the aid of the automatic measurement software Praat, an acoustic analysis of the formants F1 and F2 of the seven oral vowels of both BP and EP [i], [E], [a], [O], [u], [1] and [6] was performed. The research experiment was conducted with the participation of two sopranos, one Brazilian and the other Portuguese, in good health, who recorded the same song with Portuguese text in conformity with their native pronunciations. From the acoustic signals provided by the audio recordings, formants F1 and F2 were analyzed, along with the acoustic space of the vowels in question in order to assess the behavior of these variables not only between each other but in relation to the movements of the orofacial articulators: jaw, lips and tongue as well. The results of the investigation about BP and EP pronunciations in classical singing suggest: i) differences in F1 for vowels [i], [E] and [1]; ii) differences in F2 for [O] vowel; and iii) similarities in F1 and F2 for the vowels [a], [u] and [6]. As for the acoustic spacing of the vowels, the findings showed less movement of the articulators for the vowels [a], [6] and [O] in BP, while in EP there was a greater movement of the articulators in all vowels with the exception of the vowel [a]. Hence it can be concluded that the knowledge on the functioning of the main articulators involved in language pronunciation, as well as their influences on formants F1 and F2 can contribute substantially to the understanding of acoustic and articulatory phenomena of classical singing and to the improvement of the teaching-learning process of Portuguese language lyric diction.
