Empreendedorismo em enfermagem : estratégias de supervisão na formação inicial

Abstract

Em Portugal, a noção de empreendedorismo na formação inicial em Enfermagem é recente. Nas últimas décadas, as múltiplas mudanças verificadas no sector da saúde a nível laboral, legal e económico estão na origem de abordagens inovadoras na área da prestação de cuidados de saúde (M. Abreu, 2007). Uma escola Superior de Enfermagem pública do Grande Porto (Escola) iniciou a formação ao nível do empreendedorismo no ano lectivo de 2007-2008, através da criação de uma Unidade Curricular de Empreendedorismo (UCE), como disciplina de opção do 2º ano do curso de Licenciatura. A UCE foi frequentada por 359 estudantes até ao momento do estudo, e conta com a participação de docentes com formações diferenciadas e experiências relevantes para a formação em empreendedorismo. Este trabalho, com base nesta unidade curricular, tem como objectivos: 1. Identificar a forma como as temáticas incluídas na Unidade Curricular de Empreendedorismo são abordadas ao longo da mesma; 2. Analisar as representações que os diversos intervenientes no processo educativo possuem sobre a experiência de formação e de aprendizagem que vivenciaram; 3. Identificar as estratégias supervisivas utilizadas no desenvolvimento do currículo da disciplina; 4. Avaliar a forma como a frequência da Unidade Curricular interfere com a representação dos estudantes sobre o trabalho e a empregabilidade; 5. Apresentar propostas que possam potenciar a qualidade do ensino do Empreendedorismo em Enfermagem. Foi realizado um estudo de caso com recurso a análise documental (programa da UCE), ao questionário (a 160 estudantes) e à entrevista (a sete docentes). Para mais de metade dos estudantes, a primeira vez que ouviram falar de Empreendedorismo em Enfermagem foi na Escola. A maior parte deles não pretende criar um negócio sozinho, optando pela segurança de um outro emprego. No entanto, é de acordo da maioria que esta UCE lhes permitiu dar respostas mais criativas às exigências do mercado de trabalho. Em relação à influência das estratégias supervisivas, a UCE permitiu aos estudantes identificar o que é necessário para o sucesso da criação e gestão de um negócio. Na opinião dos docentes, os estudantes que frequentam a UCE ganham novas competências para olhar a sua vida profissional de outro modo, com outras possíveis saídas profissionais. De futuro, pretende-se que mais escolas de Enfermagem em Portugal sigam o exemplo da Escola e que tenham em conta que o ensino do empreendedorismo em Enfermagem é relevante, pois auxilia os futuros enfermeiros a satisfazer as suas necessidades pessoais e profissionais, actuando como uma força positiva no crescimento económico.

ABSTRACT: In Portugal, entrepreneurship in the initial training in nursing is recent. In the last decades, the multiple changes in health sector in the labour force, legal and economic, have led to innovative approaches in the provision of health care (M. Abreu, 2007). One school of Nursing of OPorto (School) began training at the level of entrepreneurship in the academic year 2007-2008, through the creation of an Entrepreneurship Course (UCE), as an optional subject in the 2nd year of the Bachelor's Degree. The UCE was attended by 359 students so far, and with the participation of teachers with diverse backgrounds and experiences relevant to the training in entrepreneurship. This work, based on this course, aims: 1. Identify how the themes included in the Course of Entrepreneurship are discussed along the same; 2. Analyze the representations that the various stakeholders in education have on the experience of training and learning they have experienced; 3. Identify the strategies used to develop supervised the curriculum of the discipline; 4. Assessing how the frequency of Course interfere with the representation of students on work and employability; 5. Submit proposals that would enhance the quality of teaching of Entrepreneurship in Nursing. It was conducted one case study by document analysis (program of UCE), questionnaire (160 students) and interviews (seven teachers). For more than half of the students, the first time they heard of Entrepreneurship in Nursing was in the School. Most of them do not want to create a business alone, opting for the security of another job. However, it is agreed by most that UCE allowed them to more creative responses to the demands of the labour market and the need for employment. Regarding the influence of strategies supervised, the UCE allowed students to identify what is necessary for the successful creation and management of a business. In the opinion of the teachers, students at the UCE gain new skills to look at their life differently, with other possible career opportunities. In the future, it is intended that most nursing schools in Portugal follow the example of School and take into account that entrepreneurship education in nursing is important because it helps the future nurses to meet their personal and professional needs, acting as a positive force in economic growth.
