Estudo comparativo de macroinvertebrados : actividades de 3º ciclo

Abstract

A Escola desempenha um papel primordial no desenvolvimento de competências que visam formar cidadãos responsáveis e activos numa sociedade que cada vez mais clama por responsabilidades de protecção e consciencialização ambiental. O presente trabalho de investigação foi desenvolvido no âmbito da “Área de Projecto” com estudantes do 3º Ciclo. O objectivo principal foi promover o desenvolvimento de competências relacionadas com a Biodiversidade, nomeadamente, de macroinvertebrados edáficos, através de recursos didácticos e de trabalho prático em recinto escolar, de modo a desenvolver atitudes favoráveis ao Ambiente. Assim, foram desenvolvidas aulas de motivação e preparação para que os estudantes assumissem o papel de investigadores e impulsionadores do seu percurso investigativo. Neste processo, o trabalho de campo e laboratorial assumiram um papel fundamental. Como recurso de avaliação a todo o procedimento foram efectuados guiões de aula e os estudantes realizaram relatórios e materiais alusivos que prepararam e apresentaram no final do ano lectivo, para toda a comunidade escolar. Os resultados mostraram o sucesso desta metodologia neste contexto e também a sua potencial importância no desenvolvimento doutros temas. Por outro lado, destacou-se o entusiasmo dos estudantes no processo de investigação pré-saída de campo, em trabalho de campo e laboratorial. Além disso, os estudantes evidenciaram aprendizagens e competências no âmbito das Ciências Naturais e da Área de Projecto, referenciadas como primordiais no Currículo Nacional do Ensino Básico.

ABSTRACT: The school plays a vital role in the development of skills in order to make responsible and active citizens in a society that increasingly calls for protection and environmental awareness. This work was developed under the "Area Projecto", with students of the 3rd cycle, and deals with approaches based on field work, preparation of materials and discussion of issues. The main objective was to promote the biological understanding on biodiversity, mainly edaphic macroinvertebrates, and to develop skills related to environmental protection. Thus, educational resources and practical work were developed in order to promote positive attitudes to the environment. The initial classes were developed to motivate and prepare students to play the part as active researchers. In this process, the fieldwork and laboratory work took a major role. As assessment of the entire procedure, we carried out guidelines for classroom and the students developed reports and materials that presented at the end of the school year, for the community. The results showed that the methodology was effective in this context and it also has wider potential in addressing other pedagogical issues. On the other hand, we highlighted the enthusiasm of the students in the pre-field trip, in the field and laboratory work. Moreover, students showed knowledge and learning skills within the Natural Sciences and Project Area, as referenced in the National Curriculum of Basic Education.
