Colégio D. José I em Aveiro.
A análise permitiu concluir
prazo. I started upon the conjectures that a Linguistic Culture built in a solid way in all its ways favors the knowledge and the contact with the Other, allowing a cultural linguistic enrichment. Being certain that Language Didactics modern and plural orientation plays an important role in the global society in which we live in and once proven that the school is a meeting place for students, cultures, I decided that it was important to identify scholar language images in the educational community of Colégio D. José I in Aveiro. This project is made in a combined work with a few Spanish students from the 7th grade in order to after to acknowledge how they react when we talk about that issue and if by any chance it is possible to obtain any changes in their Linguistic Culture. In order to continue this work, I followed an investigating methodology with characteristics of an action-research, since this study was going to take place on the field so I could understand and act according to the reality and having as a universe the 7th grade Spanish students. There were used four types of instruments to collect data: sentences built by the Spanish students regarding to the languages which are in the curriculum; an adapted survey from previous studies; the audio data of a class in which ideas and the results of the field work were debated; the revisit of the first instrument. The data were analyzed on the excel program and the open questions were exposed to content analysis. This analysis showed me that the view regarding to school language images have been suffering bland changes in the last decade, especially when it comes to French and Spanish and also that the students react positively and show transformations on their Linguistic Culture. Looking at the conclusions, I propose some framing ideas towards a tolerant and multilingual language education, in order to promote more positive language images and its apprenticeship and to empower the construction of the student’s Linguistic Culture. Finally, I believe that school must be capable of presenting languages to students in a way which creates in them long-term will to find more diversified contacts. |
