implica.
permitiu elaborar a seguinte questão:
This PHD thesis is intended to make an approximation to the problems brought about by the introduction of New Technologies in the world of animation industry, at a time when the feature film, the traditional cinema format, has taken on an added importance. Secondly, we aim to analyse a case study as a starting point for research improvement in this area, attempting to answer some of the questions that this innovative project entails. At the same time, we also wish to contribute to the development of Portuguese animation by means of the construction of one of the first original models for the advanced production of animated feature films in Portugal. Therefore, the context and background in which this thesis is found allowed for the definition of the following research question: how can the new technological options strongly support the production of 2D animated feature films in Portugal, bearing the same traditional graphical features and the possibility to be shown in all known formats and other hypothetically possible ones? Our investigation has thus meant to answer these issues in two complementary manners. On the one hand, we have tried to look at an original form of production with brand new eyes through vector image technology. On the other hand, we managed to respond to these with the completion of the first Portuguese animated feature film produced with the technology under development within this PHD thesis, and by turning what was once a case study into a space for experimentation and well-developed proposal. |
