Diversidades como motivação: materiais e técnicas para a disciplina de educação visual

Abstract

Numa disciplina como a Educação Visual, é essencial que se permita a abordagem específica dos interesses dos alunos, promovendo uma aprendizagem prática, passando pelas estratégias de estimulação da motivação e permitindo deste modo ao aluno, experimentar, descobrir e desenvolver o próprio raciocínio. Nesse sentido, o professor tem um papel fundamental como agente activo no processo de transmissão de conhecimentos artísticos, estimulando e motivando nos alunos o gosto pela Arte. Respondendo às necessidades que me foram apresentadas, realizei três inquéritos por questionário (anexo E,F,G) aos alunos do 9º ano de escolaridade, baseado sobretudo na experimentação de materiais como forma de os incentivar. Posteriormente, foram utilizadas diversas estratégias que passaram pela apresentação de um Power Point sobre Movimentos artísticos do Mundo Ocidental – 1ª Metade do século XX (anexo B), bem como um artigo designado “Os materiais na obra de arte e a abordagem destes no ensino” (anexo C), e ainda livros e manuais existentes na biblioteca escolar, estes como recurso de pesquisa para proporcionar aprendizagens e conhecimentos específicos, no sentido de potenciar a motivação dos mesmos para a disciplina em questão. Foi determinante para a escolha do tema deste relatório final todo o percurso efectuado. A técnica utilizada foi o questionário, que serviu duas finalidades da investigação a realizar, a saber, finalidades qualitativas e finalidades quantitativas, estas últimas apresentadas nos gráficos de análise do mesmo. A recolha da informação através do questionário foi feita de um modo misto, dado que o mesmo contém perguntas de resposta aberta e fechada. Esta metodologia foi a que melhor serviu as especificidades do objecto de estudo a realizar, designadamente a disciplina de educação visual. Tendo consciência, enquanto professora estagiária, da realidade existente no Agrupamento de Escolas de Mota, no que respeita a carência de conhecimentos ligados à Arte, foi proporcionada aos alunos uma efectiva interacção com a disciplina de Educação Visual, despertando-lhes desta forma uma motivação maior para a experimentação e criação de novas e diversas maneiras de trabalhar na disciplina. A melhoria verificada da motivação para a disciplina de Educação Visual aproveitou-se das potencialidades dos materiais e técnicas utilizados, no sentido de proporcionar aprendizagens diversificadas, satisfazendo desta maneira os objectivos do sistema de ensino.

In a class such as Visual Education, it is essential to captivate the students’ specific individual interests, providing an active learning experience with the usage of motivational strategies which allow for experimentation and the development of reason and intellect. In this sense, the teacher has an active and fundamental role in transmitting their knowledge of art so as to enhance and motivate the students. With this in account, and as to address directly the necessities which were apparent in the survey done to students of the ninth grade (annex E, F and G), the theme of this final report is based on the experimentation of materials as an incentive for learning and more specifically their motivation towards the class. In the same way, several other motivation strategies were used in this thesis, like a power point presentation about “Movimentos artísticos do Mundo Ocidental – 1ª Metade do século XX” (anexo B), as well as the view of the article entitled “Os materiais na obra de arte e a abordagem destes no ensino” (anexo C), and also books and manuals exiting in the school library, as a research resource to promote learning’s and specific knowledge, giving the students the interest to potentiate their motivation to the discipline regarded. Al the work carried out was determinant to the choice of this thesis theme. The method of work used throughout this thesis were the surveys, which served two finalities of this research, namely qualitative and quantitative , being this last one presented in the reported figures. The gathering of information through surveys was performed in a mixed method, since the inquiries contain both closed and open answers. This methodology was the one that best served the specificities of the object of study, namely the discipline of Visual Education. Having conscience, while a teacher in training, of the reality existing is this group of schools in what concerns the lack of knowledge regarding art, it was given to the students an effective interaction with the discipline of Visual Education, giving rise to a greater awareness and motivation for experimentation and the creation of new and diverse ways of working in class. The enhancement of motivation for the class must be based on the appliance of the potential of all materials and techniques, as to allow diversification in the learning process, in a way that will meet the objectives established by our system of education.
