encontrar o solo ideal, muitas vezes é necessário recorrer a solos finos. Estes
do maciço.
dependendo do tipo e propriedades do solo e do geossintético.
ocorreu deslizamento. The use of geosynthetics in Civil Engineering has been significantly growing. However, as relatively recent materials in Portugal, geosynthetics are lacking research and study, specifically regarding it’s the interaction with the surrounding soil. This is an important factor that governs the performance of the geosynthetic-reinforced structures. Most studies on the subject mention only its application to granular soils, but as one can’t always find an ideal soil, the use of fine soils is often necessary. These soils possess a reduced drainage capability and a delayed stress transfer between reinforcement and soil, leading to a slow dissipation of the excesses of pore water pressure within the soil. Thus, in this work the effect of soil moister content in soil-geosynthetics interaction was studied. These mechanisms can be very complex, depending on the type and properties of the soil and of the geosynthetic. Therefore, the soil characterization of the soil and of the geosynthetic used was done. To characterize the interaction between the selected soil and geosynthetic, pull out (NP EN 13738:2007) and inclined plane (NP EN ISO 12957-2:2007) tests were carried out using soil samples with three different moister contents (0%, half of optimum moisture content and the optimum moisture content). After its characterization the soil used in this study exhibited a small amount of fine particles in its content. The values of the tensile strength and the elongation of the geogrid revealed differences regarding the correspondent nominal parameters. On the pull out tests, the results were quite similar, merely noticing a higher stiffness on the response of the geogrid confined in the dry soil. The angle of friction of the soil geosynthetic interface was not determined, as the equipment reached its maximum inclination capability and no slide took place in the different test conditions. |
