| pt |
dc.description.abstract | In the present work it was developed a study about the distinctive features of oral speech. Specifically, we have tried to characterize the disfluency phenomena inherent to oral speech production, relating them, essentially, with the morphosyntax component of the human language. The characterization of disfluencies of normal oral speech contributes, not only to a better knowledge of oral production mechanism and its inherent phenomena, but also, to a better identification of pathologic disfluencies. Therefore, these were some of the main reasons for the development of this work, also considering the profession of the author. We selected, as our concrete object of study, TV programs with different formats, characterized by their high degree of spontaneity of the oral expression. For that reason, we have excluded the interviewers due to the previous preparation of their speech which eliminates its natural spontaneity and, consequently, the disfluency phenomena that we wanted to study. For the annotation we used the Transcriber software and followed the recommendations of the Simple Metadata Annotation document, created by LDC. We observed that the most common disfluencies, ordered by number of occurrences, are: repetitions, filled pauses, discourse markers and revisions. We, also, found that the speaker has influence in the disfluency type more frequently used. For four of the most common disfluencies we analysed the speaker influence, the program influence and, also the morphosyntatic category associated to the disfluency and its neighbourhood. At the end of the work, we compared our own results and verify that some of our conclusions match those that have been studied in other languages. | pt |
