no mundo.
Os
microrganismos mais identificados foram Pseudomonas aeruginosa ,
Haemophilus influenzae , Influenza A, utilizando os métodos clássicos e
moleculares, respectivamente.
Infectious diseases are a global health problem, according to the WHO. Among them, respiratory infections are one of the most frequent, specifically those of the lower respiratory tract, which have the highest hospitalisation rates in the world. Therefore, it is necessary to better understand which microorganisms cause these infections in order to enable better diagnosis and treatment, and also to understand how to control their spread. This study analysed the incidence of lower respiratory tract infections at Aveiro Hospital between 2017 and 2022, as well as the microorganisms that were identified. The most commonly identified microorganisms were Pseudomonas aeruginosa , Haemophilus influenzae and Influenza A, using classical and molecular methods, respectively. However, the microbiological diagnostic methods used in the hospital have a low identification rate, which can limit patient treatment and infection control. |
