Comportamentos de financiamento e de investimento em grupos empresariais

Abstract

Historicamente, os grupos empresariais têm registado uma importância significativa nos negócios por todo o mundo. Devido à escassez de resultados relativos à sua influência nos comportamentos adotados pelas organizações que pertencem aos mesmos, o presente estudo de caso tem como objetivo principal contribuir para o incremento de conhecimento relativo. De modo a perceber mais concretamente o comportamento de financiamento e o comportamento de investimento adotado pelas organizações pertencentes a um grupo empresarial, comportamentos estes que são endógenos à organização, adotou-se como metodologia o estudo de caso de uma organização portuguesa que pertence a um grupo empresarial. A investigação teve como base entrevistas realizadas a indivíduos presentes na organização e a participação ativa na mesma através de um Estágio Curricular. Para além da recolha de dados para uma melhor perceção da influência desta pertença nos comportamentos de financiamento e de investimento da organização, este estudo pretendeu também contribuir para melhor perceber qual o impacto dessa mesma influência na performance da organização alvo de estudo.

Historically, business groups have played a significant role in businesses around the world. Due to the scarcity of results concerning their influence on the behaviors adopted by the organizations that belong to them, this case study's main objective is to contribute to the increase of relative knowledge. In order to under-stand more specifically the financing behavior and the investment behavior adopted by organizations belonging to a business group, behaviors that are endogenous to the organization, we adopted as methodology the case study of a Portuguese organization that belongs to a business group. The research was based on interviews with individuals present in the organization and active participation in it through a Curricular Internship. In addition to collecting data for a better understanding of the influence of belonging to the organization on the financing and investment behaviors of the organization, this study also aimed to contribute to better understand the impact of this influence on the performance of the organization under study.
