A compreensão semântica dos tempos pretéritos do indicativo por aprendentes chineses de português

Abstract

Com a presente dissertação pretendemos identificar e estudar as dificuldades que os alunos chineses tendem a sentir no uso dos diferentes tempos do pretérito do indicativo. No primeiro capítulo, com base em bibliografia alusiva ao tema, refletiremos sobre a classe morfológica dos verbos em geral e, em especial, sobre a formação e o emprego dos tempos pretéritos do indicativo. Estabeleceremos, também, algumas comparações entre o Português e o Mandarim no que respeita à maneira de exprimir ações/estados passados (porque no Mandarim não existe a noção de tempo verbal). No segundo capítulo, analisaremos as diferenças semânticas entre os pretéritos perfeito, imperfeito e mais-que-perfeito do indicativo. O terceiro capítulo será dedicado à apresentação e análise dos dados obtidos de um inquérito lançado a aprendentes chineses de Português, com o objetivo de conhecer e avaliar a sua compreensão semântica dos tempos do pretérito do indicativo. No final do nosso trabalho de investigação, sistematizaremos as razões que poderão explicar as dificuldades observadas e apresentaremos estratégias que possam não apenas auxiliar os alunos de Português Língua Estrangeira a ultrapassá-las como também contribuir para que os professores compreendam melhor as dificuldades dos seus alunos e atinjam com mais facilidade o difícil objetivo de combinar a teoria e com a prática educacional.

With this dissertation we intend to identify and study the difficulties that Chinese students tend to feel in using the different past tenses of the indicative. In the first chapter, based on bibliography alluding to the theme, we will reflect on the morphological class of verbs in general and on the formation and use of the past tenses of the indicative. We will also establish some comparisons between Portuguese and Mandarin regarding the way of expressing past actions/states (because in Mandarin there is no notion of tense). In the second chapter, we will analyze the semantic differences between the past simple, past continuous and past perfect of the indicative. The third chapter will be dedicated to the presentation and analysis of data obtained from a survey launched to Chinese learners of Portuguese, with the aim of knowing and evaluating their semantic understanding of the past tenses of the indicative. At the end of our research work, we will systematize the reasons that may explain the difficulties observed and we will present strategies that can not only help Portuguese as a Foreign Language students to overcome them, but also help teachers better understand the difficulties of their students and more easily achieve the difficult goal of combining theory and educational practice.
