O lado negro das redes sociais: quais os riscos e como me proteger?

Abstract

As redes sociais possibilitaram manter relacionamentos existentes e ampliar os contactos de forma simples e “sem custos”. No entanto, percebe-se que há uma necessidade muito grande das pessoas em se expor nas redes sociais. Porém, um dos problemas da utilização das redes sociais está relacionado com a privacidade das pessoas e consequentemente a segurança. Considera-se importante ressaltar que a “presença” nas redes sociais é real e logo o que se publica tem consequências. Neste sentido, reconhece-se que a mudança das práticas das atitudes das pessoas nas redes sociais está diretamente relacionada com a falta de conhecimento dos ricos e perigos que correm, o que faz com que sejam necessárias a promoção de ações de sensibilização. Este artigo aborda questões de privacidade e segurança em redes sociais. Termina com um conjunto de práticas positivas, úteis para utilizar as redes sociais de forma consciente e segura.

Social networks open the possibility to maintain ongoing relationships and extend contacts in a straightforward and “costless way”. Nevertheless, it is perceived that people have a major need to expose their lives and themselves on social networks. That is the reason why one of the issues associated with the use of social networks is related to the privacy of every individual and, consequently, their security. It is important to emphasize that the “presence” in social networks is real and, therefore, what is published will have consequences that are equally real. In that regard, it is acknowledged that a change in the practices of how people behave in social networks is directly related to a lack of knowledge regarding the risks and dangers that they face, which makes it necessary to promote awareness actions. This article approaches privacy and security issues in social networks. It finishes with a set of positive practices, helpful to use social networks in a conscious and safe way.
