O problema do layout industrial: análise da situação atual e desenvolvimento de propostas de melhoria

Abstract

O projeto que se apresenta neste relatório tinha como objetivo analisar a implantação atual de uma empresa produtora de molas (Scherdel-Moltec Molas Técnicas, Lda.) localizada em São João da Madeira. A empresa pretendia diversificar a sua oferta de produtos e apostar em novos mercados, nomeadamente no campo da medicina. Assim, com a aquisição prevista de novas máquinas mais eficientes e com novas valências, surgiu a necessidade de atualizar o layout, pretendendo-se melhorar a sua eficiência e eficácia e simplificando o fluxo de materiais e pessoas. Inicialmente aprofundaram-se os conceitos teóricos necessários ao adequado desenvolvimento do projeto proposto. Seguidamente foi estudado todo o processo produtivo da organização. Os dados necessários foram então recolhidos por forma a sustentar as propostas de melhoria do atual layout, propostas essas desenvolvidas de acordo com a metodologia Systematic Layout Planning. Adicionalmente, foi possível aplicar a ferramenta dos 5S a alguns dos setores produtivos. Algumas medidas de melhoria foram implementadas não tendo contudo sido alterada a localização dos setores e equipamentos.

The project described in this report was developed with the purpose of evaluating the current layout of a manufacturing company that produces springs (Scherdel-Moltec Molas Técnicas, Lda.) located in São João da Madeira. The company wanted to diversify their mix of products and intended to enter into new markets, namely the medical field. In this context the idea was to acquire new and more efficient equipment, with new capabilities, which led to the need of reconfiguring the existing layout, thus improving its efficiency and simplifying the flow of materials and of workers. Initially, the theoretical concepts needed to develop the proposed project were studied. Afterwards the entire production process of the company was analyzed. The required data essential for developing the improvement suggestions was then gathered, and then, using Systematic Layout planning, it new alternative configurations for the existing layout were developed. It was also possible to apply 5S to some of the production sections. Some of the suggested improvement measures were implemented but it was not possible to change the physical location of the sections and different equipment.
