Lettering associado a um clube desportivo

Abstract

Desde sempre a comunicação esteve no centro da evolução e desenvolvimento social. As suas diversas formas de expressão foram permitindo ajustar e aprimorar os detalhes que por sua vez melhorou a clareza e eficácia da transmissão da mensagem. Alguns meios novos foram surgindo, e outros evoluíram. Tendo em conta que o desenho e a escrita são algumas das formas de comunicação de maior relevância neste estudo, o seu curso é conduzido para uma forma de comunicação que funde estas práticas características. Neste documento, desenvolve-se um projecto com análise de progressão, seguindo os passos que o autor marcou desde o briefing até ao resultado final. Enquadram-se o interesse pelo lettering, a sua pertinência para o autor e para o projecto em causa e abordam-se os exemplos de referência de outras temáticas e outros países cuja prática deste tipo de comunicação é preponderante e eficaz na transmissão do conteúdo aos seus públicos. A nível nacional, são denotadas referências que seguem passos semelhantes aos casos internacionais no mesmo foro. Enquadra-se igualmente a motivação e o ímpeto pessoal para o foco de acção, quer na sua natureza enquanto interesse académico, quer no seu interesse desportivo e de colaboração. O Clube do Povo de Esgueira, colectivo que pratica a modalidade de basquetebol, por ser o clube da freguesia de onde o autor é natural e por se tratar o desporto de eleição deste, cedo passou a fazer parte da sua vida e o objectivo de contribuir para o clube assim cresceu. Esta parceria, gerou um briefing, fruto de uma necessidade – criar novos elementos de merchandising que melhorassem a visibilidade do clube, captassem mais adeptos e assistisse no fortalecimento financeiro da instituição. A fase de projecto que inclui a génese e a linha de raciocínio para a concepção do lettering, descreve não só as etapas como também as questões que influenciam e afectam o sentido do progresso. Os obstáculos que surgiram são agregados com algumas soluções contempladas, bem como as premissas e condicionantes para as decisões tomadas. Inclui-se ainda uma descrição do processo de digitalização pessoal de boas práticas que ilustram o ponto de vista do autor no que diz respeito à execução digital para um controlo simples, controlado e de precisão. Por fim, são apresentadas as projecções dos produtos finais sob a forma de maquetes (mockups) que demonstram alternativas de concepção, a par com explicações das opções tomadas e as suas dificuldades técnicas de produção. É de notar que estas constatações são resultado da experiência profissional do autor enquanto colaborador técnico numa empresa de serigrafia e publicidade.

Communication has always been at the center of evolution and social development. Their various forms of expression allowed to adjust and improve the details which in turn improved the clarity and effectiveness of the message in its transmission. Some new media emerged, and other media evolved. Considering that drawing and writing are some of the most relevant forms of communication in this study, their course is led to a form of communication that fuses these characteristic practices. In this document, a project is developed with progression analysis, following the steps that the author has marked since briefing to the final result. The interest in lettering, its relevance to the author and to the project in question are addressed. Examples are given from other themes and other countries whose practice of this form of communication is preponderant and effective in transmitting the content to their own public. Nationally, are denoted references that follow similar moves and concers as international cases in the same forum. The motivation and the personal impetus for the focus of action are also included, both in their nature as an academic interest and in their sporting and collaborative interest. The Clube do Povo de Esgueira, a group that sports basketball, and because it is the club of the parish where the author is from and because it is sport of election of the author as well, soon became part of his life and the objective of contributing for the club grew. This partnership originated a briefing, in result of a need - to create new merchandising elements that would improve the visibility of the club, attract more fans and assist in the financial strengthening of the institution. The design phase that includes genesis and the line of reasoning for the design of lettering is described. Not only the steps throughout the entire project but also the issues that influence and affect the direction of progress. The hurdles and restrictions that have arisen are aggregated with some contemplated solutions, as well as the premises and conditions for the decisions that were taken. It also includes a description of the process of digitizing and vector conversion of the drawing accompanied by a personal opinion of good practices that illustrates the author's point of view with regard to digital execution for simple, controlled and precision control. Finally, the final product projections are presented in the form of mockups that demonstrate design alternatives, along with explanations of the paths taken and their technical difficulties of production. It should be noted that these findings are a result of the author's professional experience as a technical collaborator in a screen printing and advertising company.
