Análise de dados da matemática em Portugal na 1ª década do século XXI

Abstract

O papel da informação na Matemática sobre publicações, citações, etc., tem vindo a assumir em tempos recentes um papel preponderante. Enquanto alguns países já possuem sistemas automatizados de recolha e análise dessa informação, no que respeita à Matemática nada se encontra ainda disponibilizado de forma sistemática em Portugal. O presente trabalho propõe-se à recolha de informação sobre a investigação matemática em Portugal, usando como fonte de informação principal a base de dados MathSciNet, e apresentando os resultados obtidos sob a forma de tabelas e gráficos.

The role of information in mathematics about publications, citations, etc., has been taking a leading role in recent years. While some countries already have automated systems for the collection and analysis of this information, nothing is still available systematically in Portugal. This master thesis collects information on mathematical research in Portugal using as main source of information the MathSciNet database, presenting the results in the form of tables and graphics.
