David Popper e a importância dos seus estudos para o ensino do violoncelo

Abstract

No decorrer da aprendizagem de um instrumento musical, como o violoncelo, existem inúmeras dificuldades de natureza técnica e musical que o aluno pode encontrar ao longo do seu trajeto do estudo do instrumento. É importante que aluno tenha a motivação necessária, a fim de superar estas dificuldades. Cabe ao professor obter os recursos corretos para lidar com as dificuldades, garantindo assim a segurança e o crescimento da técnica do aluno. Esta dissertação baseia-se na investigação e aprendizagem dos benefícios de utilizar os estudos de David Popper no ensino do violoncelo – e por sua vez, em que níveis de ensino do violoncelo eles podem ser aplicados. Uma análise dos estudos, sobre o nível técnico e musical também está incluída, examinando mais detalhadamente os 15 Estudos Fáceis Op. 76i, e os 10 Estudos Intermédios Op.76, procurando assim compreender melhor em que medida estes estudos se tornam úteis no ensino do violoncelo. Um dos objetivos desta investigação foi criar um “manual” ou “guia prático” usando os Op.76i e Op.76 como um complemento diário para o ensino do violoncelo no quotidiano, ajudando assim na procura de meios adequados em determinadas situações, pelo qual o aluno de violoncelo beneficiaria.

In the course of learning a musical instrument such as the cello there are numerous difficulties of a technical and musical nature that the student may face during the course of studying the instrument. It is important that the student have the necessary motivation in order to overcome these difficulties. Is up to the teacher to obtain the correct means for dealing with the difficulties, thereby ensuring the security and growth of the student's technique. This dissertation is based on the study and acquired benefit of employing the studies of David Popper in cello teaching – and in turn assessing in which levels of cello teaching they may be applied. An analysis of the studies on a technical and musical level is also included, examining in closer detail the 15 Easy Studies Op.76i, the Intermediate Studies Op.76, thus seeking to better understand to what extent these studies become useful in teaching the cello. Therefore one of the objectives of this study was to develop a "handbook" or practical guide using Op. 76i and Op. 76 as a daily complement for everyday cello teaching, thereby helping the quest for the appropriate means in certain situations, by which the cello student would benefit.
