A interface universidade-sociedade - novas perspectivas na sociedade de informação e do conhecimento

Abstract

Vivemos, actualmente, numa sociedade de grandes avanços e mudanças tecnológicas, orientada para a difusão de informação e transferência de tecnologia, originando progressos a nível económico, social e, especialmente, empresarial. Desta forma, e no sentido de acompanhar tal desenvolvimento, é forçosa a mudança de mentalidade das empresas nacionais, bem como a criação de soluções inovadoras que propiciem elevados graus de competitividade das mesmas, quer entre elas quer com instituições estrangeiras. Assim, é necessário repensar como atingir estes objectivos, através do acesso a novos processos tecnológicos e Know-how, de forma mais simples e sobretudo mais económica. Para tal, poder-se-á concluir que a saída se encontra na necessidade de uma cooperação estratégica entre as referidas empresas e as instituições possuidoras do Know-how – as Universidades. É neste contexto que se insere a presente dissertação, sendo o seu principal objectivo o estudo das melhores práticas relativamente à transferência de tecnologia e do conhecimento, bem como da difusão de informação com a sociedade e as empresas. Este estudo será sustentado por modelos já desenvolvidos noutras Universidades, como é o caso da Universidade Santiago de Compostela, Universidade de Dublin – Trinity College, Universidade de Twente, Universidade de Aveiro e a Universidade da Corunha. Com base no estudo dos modelos referidos, procurar-se-á definir um modelo aplicável ao caso do Instituto Politécnico do Porto.

ABSTRACT: Actually, we live in a society of great advances and technological changes, orienting by diffusion of information and conveyance technology originating development in an economic, socially and, specially, empresarial level. In this way, in order to follow such development, it is necessary the change of mentality of the national enterprises, by the creation of innovative solutions that propitiate high grades of competition either between them either foreign institutions. Therefore, it is indispensable thinking about these aims, through the access of new technological processes and know-how, in a easier form and above all more economical. Thus we can conclude that the issue raisin of the necessity of an strategic cooperation between the aforesaid enterprises and the institutions possessors of the know-how – the Universities. It is in this context that inserts the present dissertation, witch the principal aim is the study of better practices relatively to the removal of the technology and knowledge by the diffusion of information with the society and the enterprises. This work will be support by models already developed in other universities such as Santiago Compostela University, Dublin University – Trinity College, Twente University, Aveiro University and Coruña University. Through the study of the aforesaid patterns, it was been defined an applicable model to the case of Polytechnic Institute of Porto.
