Estudantes migrantes na UA: motivações e necessidades

Abstract

O ser humano ao longo da sua vida está sujeito a várias mudanças que podem causar muito transtorno. A mudança do ensino secundário para o ensino superior pode representar, por si só, um processo doloroso. Se a esta juntarmos a mudança de país, de ambiente familiar e de cultura, podemos estar perante um choque cultural de grandes dimensões. Daí surge a importância de se perceber em que pontos as instituições podem prestar apoio de modo a minimizar os danos que podem advir da nova realidade que se impõe a estes estudantes. Neste contexto, pretende-se recolher informações de um determinado grupos de estudantes da Universidade de Aveiro e tentar verificar as motivações por detrás das suas escolhas, os problemas com que estes se deparam no contexto académico e social e posteriormente tentar formular algumas soluções que permitam que a passagem destes estudantes por esta instituição seja a mais harmoniosa possível.

Throughout his life the human being has been subject to several inconvenient changes. The transition from secondary to higher education can represent, by itself, a painful process. If we add a change of country, family environment and culture, we may be facing a cultural shock of large dimensions. Therefore it is important to realize that there are certain aspects that the institutions may provide support in order to facilitate the integration of these new students. In this context, we intend to collect information from a certain group of students of the University of Aveiro and try to verify the reasons behind their choices, the problems that they encounter in the academic and social context and subsequently try to formulate some solutions that allow an harmonious passage of these students by the institution.
