Web 2.0 na biblioteca escolar: seu papel na aprendizagem

Abstract

A explosão informacional associada ao advento das Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação (TIC), especialmente as relacionadas com a Web 2.0, configura uma nova sociedade onde a informação, caminho para o conhecimento, ocupa um lugar cimeiro. A Web 2.0 veio tornar o ambiente online mais dinâmico, onde predomina uma nova filosofia de interação, colaboração e participação. Neste contexto, a Biblioteca Escolar, enquanto unidade responsável pela organização e disseminação da informação nos mais diferentes suportes, não poderia ficar imune a essas mudanças já que as diversas ferramentas da Web 2.0 podem ser utilizadas para permitir a troca de conteúdos, a disseminação de informação e fundamentalmente a interação colaborativa. Palchevich (2008) salienta que as ferramentas da Web 2.0 servem para optimizar os recursos existentes, aumentar o acervo, ampliar a comunidade de utilizadores e dar maior visibilidade à Biblioteca Escolar. Com este estudo pretendeu-se analisar de que forma as ferramentas Web 2.0 são utilizadas na Biblioteca Escolar, como ambiente de ensino e de aprendizagem por alunos, professores e pelo professor bibliotecário. Formulada a questão de investigação e respetivos objetivos, optou-se por uma metodologia essencialmente qualitativa, do tipo estudo de caso. Os dados foram obtidos através de diversas técnicas como a inquirição, a observação e a análise documental suportadas por vários instrumentos. Os principais resultados parecem indicar algum desconhecimento, dos alunos e dos professores, na exploração do potencial das ferramentas Web 2.0. Ao nível das ferramentas Web 2.0 utilizadas pelos professores na BE destaca-se o uso do GoogleDocs e do Slideshare. Em sala de aula, a ferramenta mais utilizada é o Youtube. Quanto aos alunos, a ferramenta mais utilizada em sala de aula é o Google sites e na BE é o Facebook. Os Professores Bibliotecários utilizam algumas ferramentas na BE, onde se destacam o GoogleDocs, o blogue, o Flickr, o Diigo, o YouTube, o Facebook e o Prezzi, mas a sua otimização, ainda carece do desenvolvimento de uma cultura nas organizações escolares.

The information boom related to the emergence of the Communication and Information Technologies, mainly the ones related to WEB 2.0, sets a new society where information, the pathway to knowledge, stands on the top. WEB 2.0 made the online world more dynamic with a new philosophy of interaction, cooperation and participation. On this context, the School Library, as responsible for organizing and spreading information through various media, couldn’t remain indifferent to these changes. Thus, the several WEB 2.0 tools allow the exchange of subjects and the spreading of information related to its services. Palchevich (2008) stresses that WEB 2.0 tools enhance the existing resources, increase the documental collection, enlarge the community users and give visibility to School Library. This study intended to evaluate the potential of WEB 2.0 tools at the School Library and its role on the learning process. After making clear the issue of the investigation and its aim, it was chosen a methodology based on quality, of the type case study. The data was gathered using several methods, such as inquiries, observation and documental study grounded on several devices. The main results seem to indicate some lack of knowledge of students and teachers in exploring the potential of Web 2.0 tools. In terms of Web 2.0 tools used by teachers in the School Library, it´s possible to point out the use of GoogleDocs and Slideshare. In the classroom, the most used tool is YouTube. As for students, the most used tool in the classroom is Google sites and the School Library is the Facebook. Library Teachers use some tools in the School Library, such as GoogleDocs, blog, Flickr, Diigo, YouTube, Facebook and Prezzi, but their enhacement still requires a cultural development in the school organization.
